Privacy Policy
Last updated August 6, 2026
Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you have over your information.
Information we collect
- Information you give us — your name, email, password, and profile details when you create an account, plus the courses, posts, reviews, messages, and other content you create.
- Usage & device data — the courses you view, your progress, achievements, and basic technical information such as browser type, device, and approximate location from your IP address, collected automatically to run and improve the product.
- Payment information — if you buy something, our payment processor handles your card details. We receive a confirmation and limited details (like the last four digits), not your full card number.
- Cookies — see our Cookie Policy for what we set and why.
How we use it
- To run your account, track learning progress, and issue certificates.
- To power Elev, your AI tutor, so it can tailor explanations, quizzes, and check-ins to you.
- To recommend courses, surface achievements, and personalize your dashboard.
- To process payments, send transactional and (if you opt in) marketing email, and provide support.
- To keep the platform safe, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Elevar, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. These include:
- Google (Gemini API) — to generate Elev's AI explanations, quizzes, and course materials from the prompts and content you submit.
- Supabase — our database and account storage.
- Vercel — hosting and basic traffic analytics.
- Resend — sending account and notification emails.
- Uploadthing — storing images and files you upload.
- A payment processor, when real payments are enabled, to handle transactions.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Elevar and our users. We don't share your private learning activity with other users unless you choose to make it public from your profile settings.
Your rights & choices
You can edit or delete your profile information at any time in Settings, control what appears on your public profile, and unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message. You can request a full export or permanent deletion of your account by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as under the GDPR or CCPA) to access, correct, or restrict the use of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local authority — contact us to exercise any of these.
Children's privacy
Elevar is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. Users between 13 and the age of majority should use Elevar with a parent or guardian's involvement.
Data retention & security
We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We protect it with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.
International transfers
Our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. We'll post the new date at the top and, for material changes, give you notice on the Service or by email.
